Having an out-of-state visitor provided a perfect reason
for John, Stephanie, and Rob to take Jeni canoeing. 
The weather was clear all weekend.  After driving 
from Anchorage, they arrived at Cooper Lake and
had the parking area and beach almost to themselves.
