Ken and Jennetta Hughes
Ken and Jennetta Hughes are missionaries serving with InterAct Ministries, formerly Arctic Missions. They live next to the Big Lake airport, but the ministry takes them all over Alaska. They joined Arctic Missions in the mid-seventies and Scenic Park Bible Church started supporting them about that time. They have six married children and a number of grandchildren. Ken's father, Ken Hughes Sr., was a pioneer missionary in Alaska, also with Arctic Missions.
When Ken started with the mission, he spent most of his time in vehicle and other maintenance. Later he spent most of his time flying people and supplies for Bible camps and missionary outreach programs across Alaska. Ken also carried on an itinerant ministry discipling individuals in bush villages.
Ken is now focusing on a group of approximately 60 "bush" families located less than an hour's flight from his home. These people have little or no Christian witness and are accessible only by plane or boat. Jennetta helps as Bible teacher and bookkeeper.
